• Post-doctoral fellowship – Archaeology and GIS – deadline : 1 June 2019

    The DANUBIUS project offers one post-doctoral fellowship in the field of archaeology and archaeological/historical GIS models, starting in October 2019. This position is limited to 10 months. The Post-doctoral Fellow’s main functions will be contributing to the database of archaeological sources, as well as participating in the deployment of the GIS model.

The Post-doctoral Fellow’s main functionswill be contributing to the prosopographical database on the Dioecesis Thraciarum, as well as the database of epigraphic sources.

DANUBIUS project – three-year PhD position starting in autumn 2018 (University of Lille, France / HALMA-UMR 8164)
The DANUBIUS project, funded by the I-SITE ULNE for the period 2018-2021 and which is hosted by the University of Lille, within the HALMA-UMR 8164 research unit, offers one PhD position starting in October 2018. The position is limited to 36 months. The PhD will investigate aspects of the Christianisation of the Lower Danubian region in Late Antiquity, both from the archaeological and historical points of view, with a topic to be negotiated between the selected candidate and the scientific coordinator of the research programme, Dr Dominic Moreau, relying on the project proposed in the application (depending on the topic, there is a possibility of thesis co-supervision).
